An Inglot stall opened up in a local mall around the same time Urban Decay debuted at Mecca Maxima stores so I spent a few days contemplating which I should purchase. After much swatching, researching, and annoying sales assistants, obviously I chose to make my own everyday palette with Inglot.
What pushed me over to this side of the line was the incredible quality, variety and pretty good prices offered by Inglot - especially when compared to the ridiculously overpriced MAC DIY palettes. The UD Naked 3 palette was pretty and unique, but the glitter and shimmer shades fell short of (high) expectations.

A few pointers for you before making a Inglot Freedom System Palette:
- The palette and products are bought separately, with different shapes and sizes depending on the product.
- For eyeshadows, a 10 pan palette is AU$20 and each eyeshadow pan retails for AU$10.
- You get a lot of product, and the quality of most shadows are unbelievable, so there is definitely much value for money in doing this.
- They come packaged as above. The airtight plastic thing took me forever to open, so have something sharp at the ready like a thumbtack to easily slice through it.
- The palette is quite hefty and sturdy, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a lightweight palette. That being said, it's sleek as well as functional and customisable(duh).
- There is a slight overspray on new shadows so don't be too alarmed if the same shadow looks fantastic on display but different in packet. Just dive in and the good stuff is underneath.
- I would not suggest shopping online and looking at swatches as the colours may not be what you expect them to be.
A few pointers on the eyeshadow formulae:
As you can see below, I didn't get any AMC Shine shadows, and only one in the DS range. My personal favourite are the Pearl finish eyeshadows because they are incredibly creamy, pigmented, true to colour and blendable. I based this palette off the Naked 3, but obviously catered to what I like to wear on a daily basis - with some added 'fun' shades that I definitely use when I feel like it (and didn't want to pay so much for Burberry Mulberry).
I am blown away by these shadows every time I use them and am also considering making another one soon. These are definitely an investment in the Australian market, but considering the value and quality - you don't have to buy everything all at once - they are very much worth every penny in the long run. Absolutely, cannot recommend Inglot shadows enough, especially if you're on the market for a customised palette.

A few pointers on the eyeshadow formulae:
- Matte: no shimmer or sparkles, flat in colour and some tend to be quite powdery. (2.3g, 0.08oz)
- Pearl: satin or slightly shimmery/frosty finish, no separate particles of glitter. (2.7g/0.09oz)
- DS: "Double Sparkle". The base of these have a satin or semi matte finish, and have a top layer of fine glitter. (2.5g/0.09oz)
- AMC: "Advanced Makeup Component". This range is perspiration resistant, contains vitamin E, and is talc-free. #63 is completely matte. (2.7g/0.09oz)
- AMC Shine: Same as AMC above, but more finely milled so these have a bit more sheen to them. Hence, these can be shimmery, frosty or metallic but not glittery. (3.2g/0.11oz)
